COLAPINTO WINS AGAIN IN VALENCIA

ROFGO Junior Franco Colapinto took two brilliant visits to the Formula Regional European Championship podium last weekend at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.

Franco picked up right where he left off in Austria and stormed into his third consecutive pole position in Saturday’s qualifying. Following a thrilling start, the Argentinian controlled the race until the chequered flag, claiming a dominant victory – his third one of the 2021 FRECA season.

Sunday turned out to be more challenging as Franco’s flying laps in Qualifying 2 were compromised by yellow and red flags. However, he was still able to set the second-fastest time securing a front-row start for the last race of the weekend.

Even though Franco was challenging Belov for the lead throughout the entire race, he just wasn’t able to make a move on the Russian and crossed the line in second place, ahead of the championship leader.

Franco Colapinto:

“Another good weekend in the bag! The car was amazing once again, and the team did a mega job. It’s a shame we couldn’t maximize our potential due to the yellow flags in the second qualy, but we’ll have two more weekends to prove what we’re capable of! Thanks to ROFGO and Bullet for the continuous support. Bring on Mugello!”

With two more rounds left on the calendar, Franco is now sitting in sixth place in the championship. The next race will take place in two weeks’ time (8-10 October) in Mugello, Italy
