Franco has received a special tribute in the heart of Buenos Aires at El Cuartito, one of the city's most legendary pizzerias - and Franco’s local.
Known for its deep ties to Argentina’s sporting greats, the restaurant has now added Franco’s portrait to its walls—right next to Juan Manuel Fangio, Lionel Messi, and Diego Maradona.
"We came to eat pizza here at El Cuartito, and they placed a painting of me next to Fangio, Messi and underneath Maradona”
For any Argentinian athlete, this is a true honour. El Cuartito has been a go-to spot for sports legends for decades, including Diego Maradona, who was a regular. Now, Franco joins an elite group of national icons recognised within its historic walls.
Being placed alongside Fangio, Messi, and Maradona is more than just a tribute—it’s a statement.
Fangio defined motorsport, Maradona and Messi shaped football history, and now Franco is carving his own path on the world stage.
For an Argentinian racer, standing next to Fangio is especially meaningful, linking Franco to the country’s deep motorsport heritage and the legend who paved the way.
If you’re ever in Buenos Aires and want to see it for yourself (and grab a slice of some of the best pizza in the city), El Cuartito is located at Talcahuano 937. It's more than just a restaurant - it’s a place where Argentina’s greatest sporting stories live on.
Staff members recall that Maradona often ordered double mozzarella pizza with fainá and a glass of moscato wine. We wonder what Franco’s go-to order will be…
